Daydream Nightmare is a vast alternate-universe based series. Set in the year 4085, we follow two young protagonists who venture through the light and dark galaxies known as Exlandia. Spanning out to 17 fully inhabited planets, our heroes experience the tale of a lifetime.
Life with Lamarr is a comic made with Garry’s Mod, featuring parody versions of the popular cast of Half-Life 2, as well as some outlandish original creations. Now just into its second year and over 200 updates, this ongoing twisted sitcom keeps chugging along with its internet and pop culture jokes, evil pigeons, foul-mouthed cacti and the eternal love of a man for his headcrab.
Earth in the 21st century got discovered by the ICI (Intergalaxtic committee of intelligence ) and declared it as the dumbest planet of all planets with life in the universe. The president of earth created a project called ‘SWEFS’ (german for Special Space Unit For Strange Star Systems) to shoot the dumbest people of earth onto other planets to increase Earth’s IQ average and to lower other planet’s ones. They kept the members of the SWEFS in believe that it is a serious mission to protect the space safety, so that they will never return to earth.
Due to calculation mistakes all ships landed on the most intelligent planet called NakNak. The NakNaks saw in the dumb passengers the smartest people on their planet, because they were retarded enough to do jobs they would never do. Dangerous jobs which no smart creature would do to risk his life. The NakNaks took the SWEFS concept over and support the crew in their retarded missions.
Supermassive Black Hole A* is a webcomic that follows a thin storyline, but is primarily focused on it’s striking black and white art. Hard kick ass chick in space sums up what I’ve gathered of the storyline.
Totally worth checking out, the site is slick too, so you can quickly move through the comics which basically amount to panels from a larger graphic novel.
Marooned is about a spaceship captain stranded on Mars trying to find his way back home. The art is in a retro style much like the Fallout cartoon styling, but set on an alien inhabited planet. It’s very colorful, and well crafted.
The site design is very nice and navigable enough, if long, but they also have ads from the rampage network that pop on top of everything which can be a little disruptive when you just want to browse through a few pages of the comic, though it’s very much worth putting up with.
