The ultimate furry adventure comic, think World Of Warcraft with more puppy people. The fleshy humanoids have some sort of conflict with the furrier bipedal creatures, and from there the adventure begins!
Some needlessly sloppy font choices for the text bubbles take away from the otherwise decently visually crafted comic.
Drugs In The Water was created on a whim when the creator, Cat, was 17 years old. It is named after a Newspaper headline that flashes briefly in the movie Queen Of The Damned.
There are main characters and some not-so main characters who are used simply as plot devices (or in some cases, punchline devices). The top three are:
Kit – a veterinary science student who doesn’t have a lot of money, and inexplicably has cat ears.
Casey – flatmate to Kit, works in a motorcycle shop and can cook surprisingly well.
Tim – an eccentric, sexually ambiguous arts student who does powerful hallucinogenic drugs on occasion.
The comic flicks back and forth between graphic novel-type plot and random gags. Everything is drawn by hand and scanned by Cat, at least until she can figure out how to use a graphic tablet effectively.
The notorious furry video game webcomic VG cats, is primarily known for having metric shit tons of panels for nearly every strip. Often exploiting your nostalgia for old video games with rehashes of observations everyone already made 15 years earlier, made slightly more off-putting by the fetishistic furry character designs.
Putting all complaints aside for the moment, VG Cats can still manage to hit with a legitimately funny strip every once in awhile, and that’s more than enough to keep this comic alive.
